The kickoff to the Child Well-Being Initiative started in April 2010 and will be on-going for at least the next five years to come.

This extraordinary opportunity was presented to North Platte through a partnership offered by the Nebraska Child and Families Foundation and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.  North Platte was one of five pilot communities selected in Nebraska.

Through a series of assessments and the input of several community partners, a plan will be implemented on how to best positively impact the futures of our community's children and families.  The plan will help to address any gaps or barriers that exist in North Platte's prevention system and work collaboratively to reduce negative data surrounding the well-being of our city's youth.

As we all know, with money being tight and budget crunches, it is imperative to band together to make the best impacts and changes that we can with the resources we have available.  Through this work and the support of all involved we will help shape a brighter future for our kiddos!!

We are a committed community, working together, producing safe and healthy environments for children!
